CARS
How many people are allowed in a car?
A maximum of six people are allowed on-board each cabin, except as a result of Covid-19 restrictions. Each car has two three-seater benches, which are opposite each other. For example, a child cannot sit on their parent’s knee without being considered as a passenger.
Do the cars stop during boarding/alighting?
No. When passing through each of the stations, the cars continue to move slowly without stopping, unless our conductor deems this necessary, for example, when persons with reduced mobility need to board.
Do the doors open/close automatically?
Yes. The doors open and close automatically when embarking and alighting. They are closed air-tight when moving.
TRIPS
How long does a one-way trip last?
This varies, depending on the rotational speed of the cable. The trip lasts approximately four minutes on average.
What time does the last car leave at the end of the day?
If closing time is scheduled for 5 pm, for example, the train that arrives at the station at that time will be the last one available to the public.
BIKES
Are bikes allowed on-board?
Yes, under certain conditions. Standard bikes: A maximum of one standard bike is permitted per car. The cyclist places their bike in an upright position in the central aisle, attaches it to a rack and then sits in an available seat. Since bikes take up a lot of space in the car and will prohibit other passengers from boarding, priority access to the cars will be granted to pedestrians over cyclists. Folding bikes: The cyclist places their bike in front of them, making sure that there is sufficient space in the car; if not, they must take the next car.
Do I have to pay to bring my bike on-board?
No. This is a free service. Each user pays the rate for their age group or the category to which they belong.
Can I bring my bike on-board with a €32.50 annual pass?
Yes, but only a folding bike.
How do you position your bike in the car?
The bike is placed in an upright position and attached to a rack above the front wheel. Only one bike is allowed in the car. The cyclist sits on the remaining seat.
Are electric bikes allowed on board?
It is not possible to board with an electric bicycle as it prevent the doors from shutting down.
PETS
Are dogs allowed on the cable car?
Yes, under certain conditions. The dog must be kept on a short leash by its owner at all times and must sit on their knee during the journey. If the dog is too large to sit on their knee, it must be kept in front of them. In order to avoid annoying other passengers, we recommend that dog owners choose an empty, or almost-empty, car and, if necessary, wait for a car to become available. It is forbidden to have multiple dogs in a single car. See the general conditions for further details
PERSONS WITH REDUCED MOBILITY
Can wheelchairs fit in the cars?
Yes. The cars are designed to accommodate standard wheelchairs. If necessary, the seats are placed in an upright position to facilitate boarding and alighting
